About Us

Dragon Auto Guide is the English-language reference for owning, maintaining and fixing Chinese-brand cars — MG, Chery, GWM/Haval, BYD, Geely and more — in Australia, the UK, South Africa, the Gulf and Southeast Asia.

Millions of Chinese cars sold since 2020 are now leaving warranty. Their owners and independent workshops face a documentation gap: no reliable English source for oil specs, service schedules, fault codes or parts compatibility. We exist to close that gap.

What makes us different

• Every technical figure is verified against at least two independent sources before publication — or it is not published.
• Every repair-related page is signed off by a qualified vehicle technician (see Reviewers).
• We collect first-hand workshop data: real OBD readings, documented repair cases and part numbers from partner workshops servicing these exact cars.
• We tell you what we don’t know. A missing number is marked as unverified, never invented.

The team

Dragon Auto Guide is published by Dragon Automotive Research, an independent automotive information and research organisation. Our editorial line is four words long: Independent. Technical. Evidence-based. Owner-focused.

Ethan Cole — Editor-in-Chief & Automotive Technical Researcher — leads the research and editorial process: sourcing official documentation, building the verification record behind every table, and deciding what does not get published. His standing rule: every number traces to a document, and where we can’t verify, we say so rather than guess. Technical sign-off on repair-related pages remains with our independent reviewers (see Reviewers). Every published page will carry the name and date of the technician who reviewed it.
