Chery E5 / Omoda E5 guides: Overview Service schedule Running costs Recalls (Chery)
⚠ UK recall: Omoda E5s are covered by the UK driveshaft-nut inspection (R/2026/013) — details here.
⚠ Australian recall REC-006696: the register lists 1,852 Chery E5 T19CEV cars, year range 2025 - 2026, as we archived the notice on 18 September 2026. It says: “Due to a software issue, the vehicle’s Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) may not activate. If this occurs, pedestrians and other road users may be unaware of the vehicle’s approach.” Check your VIN at vehiclerecalls.gov.au.
Correction note: This page did not list Australian recall REC-006696, which the register published on 13 August 2026; it now does, with the risk the notice prints.

The E5 — sold as Omoda E5 and, in MY26 form, also badged Chery E5 — is the electric member of the Omoda 5 family, and its ownership math runs on different rules: services every 20,000 km (double the petrol Omoda’s interval), odd-year services at just $149, and capped coverage stretching to 140,000 km — the longest in Chery’s Australian range. No engine oil, no spark plugs: an EV schedule is inspections, brake fluid, filters and software.

Warranty — Australia

7 years / unlimited km for a new vehicle. If a vehicle sold through an authorised Chery Dealer is used primarily as a taxi, for ride sharing, for hire or rental, as a driving-school vehicle or for delivery/courier work, the limit is 7 years / 150,000 km, whichever occurs first. Roadside assistance and capped-price servicing are separate programs.

For the high-voltage battery, Chery’s separate Australian terms print 8 years / unlimited* km. The archived terms do not explain the asterisk in that wording. Capacity cover applies when net residual energy capacity falls below 70% relative to delivery, as measured by an authorised Chery Dealer; assessment remains at Chery’s discretion. The 150,000 km vehicle-use limit above is not stated for the high-voltage battery.
